SchoolRooms
We had a great orientation session earlier this month by Ken Peterson of the Boston Region, on SchoolRooms. It’s a new product that is offered through the Boston Public Library and is available to anyone in Massachusetts via the BPL’s new “e-card”. If you haven’t heard, your students (13 and older) can get a FREE BPL e-card, which gives them access to all the BPL databases. (Kids under 13 need their parent to get them a card.) Anyone can upgrade to a full-privilege card by visiting any BPL branch.
But the coolest thing about the e-card is that kids can have access to SchoolRooms! If you haven’t tried it yet, hurry up! It is great. Beth Gallaway blogged the session that Ken presented at Metrowest today. You can read her blog post at http://metrowestnews.blog-city.com/schoolroomstraining06.htm.
Ken will be coming back in the spring to do another orientation/demo in our region, so stay tuned! In the meantime, have a look! http://bpl.schoolrooms.net/rooms/portal/page/Sirsi_HOME.
